MUSIC IS MAGIC!

After working as a pediatric speech-langauge pathologist and serving clients with varied communication needs for over a decade, I finally learned how to best support gestalt language processors!!   And I cannot tell you how amazing it feels!! My passion for supporting GLPs grew so much, I started creating YouTube videos to reach kids far beyond the walls of my therapy room!

Playtime with Tor started with two main goals:

✔️ Model language that was relatable, practical, and supportive for gestalt language processors!

✔️ Teach and empower the grown-ups supporting them!

Everything you see in my videos is INTENTIONAL…from the language models, to the strategies, to the SONGS!

Knowing that many GLPs pick up songs as early gestalts, I got the idea of borrowing melodies of nursery rhyme songs and creating new songs that would include:

✔️ Language that would be relevant and useful for kids in every day situations

✔️ Phrases that would be easy to mitigate to support kids in moving through NLA stages

After HEARING stories from both caregivers and professionals about how impactful my songs have been, and SEEING how they were benefiting my own clients, I felt inspired to take it a step further!

I created the Playtime with Tor Song Guide to make it easier than ever to learn, consistently use, and share these songs. With this guide, you’ll be able to:

✔️ Post songs around the house as a visual for you and your GLP!

✔️ Share with other family members!

✔️ Share with families you work with!

Get everyone modeling for our musical GLPs in a way that’s meaningful to them!

“The PWT Song Guide is extremely helpful and efficient for therapy sessions. I can quickly access the songs for various needs like transitions, routines, or playtime fun without having to spend time scrolling on my phone. This makes connecting with clients so much easier and is incredibly useful for supporting our GLP's overall therapy progress and skills. I will definitely be using this every single day! Thanks Tor!”

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING?

“This is a great resource that gives a little education about GLP, covers different strategies, and gives tons of sample songs for different situations. I think it would be especially helpful for those who are newer to NLA/GLP awareness, whether they be parents, caregivers, or other professionals who work with this population. I feel like this would have been very helpful when I first stumbled across GLP around the time my son was 2.5 years old. This guide is wonderfully neuroaffirming and supportive. I love the tips about singing the songs when the kids are well-regulated. Additionally, I love the tips about supporting interoception through song. That's definitely something we will continue to work on with our son!”

-Mary, Parent

“The Playtime with Tor Song Guide is a wonderful resource to support my GLP daughter. By using the guide it will be easier to have family, therapists, and her teachers on the same page. By using the same songs she uses and knows consistently, she is much more likely to have a positive response and a deeper understanding of how she’s feeling or what’s expected! I feel like these songs actually help me to remain calm and not escalate situations that tend to trigger my daughter. I really appreciate this resource, your videos, and songs!”
